4X5 b/w photography

This sort of photography was a nice excercise in agony. We would go out in a launch with a hatch in the cockpit roof through which I would poke my upper half festooned with a couple of Nikons and my trusty Speed Graphic 4X5, position ourselves and lose way as the yacht sailed by a few times, and when you do that the launch becomes rather less stable. This means that I got tossed from side to side in the considerable swell, and usually had the bruses to prove it.
